How to use Huntsman Daryl[]

HDaryl has the unique Prowl functionality, meaning he can hit walkers by running past them. In the current Meta, which is based around crowd control (by stunning, rooting and crippling walkers) HDaryl's role has diminished a lot from his glory days, but he is a fun hero to use on low- to mid-level missions.

Daryl works best when he can deliver maximum damage, and he is always on the move, so the recommended traits for him are Strong, Ruthless and Weakening. As the fourth trait you can pick either Lucky or Perseverance. Lucky is good for improved critical hit chance and for improved chance of a team leader's leader trait to kick in, while Perseverance helps him stack up charge points faster.

Regarding badges, some players have opted to put a critical chance badge on him, together with 3 damage and 2 critical damage badges. This is due to him doing a lot of non-charge attacks when prowling, so maximizing the chance of critical hits can be better than maximizing critical damage.

The prowling strategy with HDaryl works especially nicely together with a threat reducing weapon. This allows you to empty the map of walkers, giving you time to open boxes, gates and make your way to the exit. The classical weapon on him is the Crescent Edge (which has threat reduction), which has a good 2-space hit radius for multi-targeting while prowling, and a guaranteed extra action on kills. Often this means you can get charged by making a quick move and prowl some walkers, then make a charge attack to kill another walker(s), then make another prowl move, or just move away to safety. There is also a Mercer's Axe with threat reduction, which is really the best possible weapon for HD, as it has a guaranteed interrupt on overwatch, but this is a cash-only weapon.

His LT also allows you to move on human enemies without getting overwatch attacked. This ability is of little use as other heroes are much better suited for play against humans.
