How to use Yumiko[]

Yumiko is the best Shooter in the game, and is a key Hero in the CMY/SMY team. Note that slightly unintuitively Yumiko works best in the team member role. When Yumiko shoots a target (and the target doesn't die), all other ranged survivors within range of the same target, will also shoot against it. This essentially gives a free extra shot for the other two team members. As Yumiko's LT only works with ranged heroes she works best in a all-ranged team.

Yumiko works best in combination with some certain other heroes:

  • With Sasha in lead and with Mercer or Princess, you can set up your team so all in in range of a bunch of walkers. Shoot (and don't kill) one walker with Yumiko, and Sasha and the assault gets a free shot into the bunch, giving a good chance of getting charged. They can then use their own attack to make a charge attack. This way you can reliably get charged every round. Use Primed armors to further improve your chances of getting charged, and if you still find it hard to get Mercer charged, use Princess instead, as het LT gives even more chances of getting charged.
  • The extra shot will give another chance for Mercer's leader trait Men-At-Arms to activate, meaning he can very quickly kill even the toughest walkers
  • Even though Connie is not a ranged hero, many players prefer to use Connie in lead and only use Yumiko to give Mercer a second shot. Connie allows reliable recharging on maps with a low amount of walkers, as long as you place your team in a L-formation at the end of the turn.
  • It can feel tempting to use Yumiko in lead as that means you can get triple attacks, but the problem is that damage from normal attacks will be quite low when facing walkers of high levels so it will be much less effective than getting charged. This strategy does work against lower level opponents, though, and a defensively badged Yumiko can be a decent leader for a PvP attacking team.

Yumiko is best rerolled and badged as any offensive hero, so Critical Aim, Marksman, Lucky and Ruthless, with 3 Damage and 3 Critical Damage badges. Some pleayers, however, prefer to keep her defensive and without strong offensive traits, in order reduce the risk of her killing her target - which makes sure you get the extra attacks.
